Activity Overview
Kids will design their own sailing journey, imagining where they would travel if they were on a sailboat like the characters in the book. They will draw a map and write a short adventure story based on their imaginary voyage.
- Draw a Map 🗺️
- Give kids a blank sheet of paper or a printable world map.
- Have them draw a sailing route with different islands, landmarks, or obstacles they might face (like storms or sea creatures!).
- They can add place names and fun details like treasure spots or hidden caves.
- Write a Short Story 📖
- Ask them to write a short adventure story (or tell it out loud if they are younger) about their journey.
- Prompt them with questions like:
- Where is their boat going?
- What do they see along the way?
- Do they meet any friendly (or not-so-friendly) sea creatures?
- What challenges do they face at sea?

- Let them decorate their maps with stickers, drawings, or even a “compass” in the corner.
